I am honored to be able to return to ATHENAVB as a coach this year!

 

I started playing volleyball in middle school and quickly realized this was my sport. I played for Lakeridge High School and led my team to a Top 8 finish for the first time in school history as a senior captain in 2005. I played club for 2 years at Pacific VBC before being encouraged by a friend to come to Athena Volleyball Academy in 2003. Once at Athena, I discovered a culture of volleyball that was welcoming, encouraging, forward-thinking, and female-focused. I played 2 years on Athena 18 Black (there was no gold back then!) as an OH and libero then returned to coach an 18s team in my early 20s.

 

I held various other coaching jobs after graduating high school: varsity assistant at Lake Oswego, Lakeridge, and Aloha high schools; JV head coach at Aloha and McNary high schools; and 16-1 head coach at Westside VBC. Each one of these coaching jobs came from the connections I made with the coaches I met at Athena!

 

After taking a long break from volleyball to raise my two young sons, I am ecstatic to be back in the gym and part of this community.
